One of the most prolific humanitarian campaigns I’ve personally initiated in my life is „1 CM OF ACTION.” During the pandemic, I made many decisions with my heart, even though I neglected my companies and loved ones. When the flame of passion catches me, I can’t stop.
In 2020, I formed a team of volunteers, which I led for almost a year. I put my money on the line, my energy, my hotel, and restaurants at the disposal of the authorities and people affected by COVID-19.
For my involvement, a year later, I was rewarded with the title of Honorary Citizen of Suceava Municipality, becoming the youngest person from Suceava to receive this distinguished honor.
I was a sort of press agency and collection center. During the day, I sent out donations, and in the evening, I wrote. My hotel was made available for free to the authorities, transformed into a quarantine accommodation unit for those affected by COVID-19. My restaurants provided free deliveries (I donated tens of thousands of products).
I did not request or accept any compensation, financial reimbursement, or anything else from the authorities. I refused all help or funds to avoid any speculation.
I personally donated over 300,000 euros in cash, goods, and services. I raised 1.5 million euros from donations, which I donated to the affected hospitals.
Here’s how the idea came to me: many years ago, when I was a student, I was frustrated because none of my businesses were working. Back then, I read online that a young guy made 1 million dollars selling pixels.
His brilliant idea stayed with me, so after 15 years, I put it into practice on a larger, more original scale: I transformed the first meter of highway into square centimeters and „sold” (in the sense that I gathered donations) highway centimeters, with a certificate, at 10 euros per square meter, the funds donated to the Red Cross accounts. Whoever bought more, got a larger plot. Since the highway was 1 meter long and 30 meters wide, there were 300,000 square centimeters.
The idea generated waves of solidarity. All the money went into the Suceava Red Cross accounts, with which we purchased thousands of medical supplies and equipment. I raised an enormous amount, 1.5 million euros, more than the student with his website: Million Dollar Homepage.
Later, I bought a mobile intensive care unit (700,000 euros) and equipped several hospital departments with oxygenators and other specialized equipment (Suceava Hospital, Fălticeni Hospital).
Subsequently, with a donation of over 500,000 euros, I built, together with the authorities in Gura Humorului, a small hospital. See the progress here: YouTube Video.
